NEW TO HOCKEY? YOU’RE IN THE RIGHT POND.
Your forward competes on total NHL points (goals + assists), your defenseman on cumulative NHL +/−, and your goalie on goals allowed per 60 ice minutes. Each category has equal weight.
With 6 scoring managers, first in a category earns 6 league points and last earns 1. Add all three categories to find the leader. Ties share the points for their places, and tied totals share a league rank.
Defensemen need 3 ice minutes per elapsed scoring day, with a 20-minute minimum and a 600-minute cap, to qualify for +/− league points. Goalies need 10 ice minutes per elapsed scoring day, with a 60-minute minimum and a 1,800-minute cap. Only ice time earned by your selected players during your league’s scoring dates counts. The table shows progress toward both requirements.
Goals allowed per 60 = goals allowed × 60 ÷ actual ice minutes. Unqualified defensemen and goalies earn zero league points in their category until they meet its minimum. This is a cumulative rule across all your scoring rosters.
NHL +/− generally credits a skater when their team scores an even-strength or shorthanded goal while they are on the ice, and subtracts when the opposition does so. Most power-play goals do not affect it. We use the NHL’s reported figure. Your defenseman must meet the ice-time minimum to earn league points in this category.
It is affected by teammates and team performance. A great defender can have a negative number, so look at the team context as well as the player.
Choose exactly one forward, one defenseman, and one goalie for no more than 100 Duck Dollars. Different managers may pick the same player—there is no turn order or exclusive ownership.
Your roster locks at 00:00 UTC on the chosen scoring date. No retroactive points. A redraft window opens seven days before its scheduled date; save a full replacement squad before it closes. Earlier results stay yours. If you skip a redraft, your last saved roster carries forward.
There are no injury swaps outside a draft window. Check availability before locking. League dates are fixed on creation so the rules cannot change mid-contest.
Duck Dollars are fictional game credits, not entry fees, real NHL salaries, betting odds, or cash prizes.
Completed NHL regular-season games only. Scoring uses the NHL game date, including games that finish after midnight. Preseason and playoff games are excluded. The scoring season ends before July 1 of its ending year.
Results refresh hourly and can change with official stat corrections. The data timestamp and latest completed game date are shown above. This independent open beta is not affiliated with the NHL.
