Trading / THE FANTASY PLAYBOOK

A trade should improve your lineup

Evaluate the roster after the deal, including the player you would have to drop.

Compare the before and after

Start with the players who would actually enter or leave your starting lineup. A two-for-one offer is not automatically an upgrade because it includes more names. Include the replacement you would start if a player leaves.

Price the lost flexibility

Check bye weeks, injury uncertainty, and positional depth on both sides. Trading your only backup at a scarce position creates a different risk from moving a player you rarely use.

Use your scoring rules

Reception points, passing touchdowns, tight-end premiums, and lineup requirements change the comparison. An analysis built for a different format is a starting point for discussion, not a final answer.

Make an offer the other manager can use

Look at their starting gaps and goals before sending a proposal. Explain the fit briefly. Respect a declined offer and keep negotiations separate from league-wide pressure.

Review the full terms

For dynasty deals, check the exact season and round of every pick. For all formats, confirm the trade deadline and review process on the host platform. Frumpy Duck does not execute trades.
