Start with availability, then decide on upside
Check your league platform’s injury designations, the player’s team updates, and game-day inactive announcements. A projected total is not confirmation that a player will play. List a replacement for every uncertain starter before comparing two healthy options.
Leave your late options open
When your platform allows it, put an eligible player with a later kickoff in a FLEX slot and an earlier player in a position-specific slot. That can preserve more replacement choices if late news arrives. Check your league’s lock rules first; some leagues lock the whole lineup at once.
Check the opportunity behind the last box score
Compare role, usage, and the paths to touches. A touchdown on two targets tells a different story from a quiet week with steady involvement. Use several games where available, and note whether an injury or game script changed the opportunity.
Make the bench work for your lineup
Look ahead to bye weeks and thin positions. Before adding a speculative player, ask whether the move leaves you without a required starter next week. League HQ and Team Analysis show roster composition; they do not replace injury or depth-chart reporting.
Do one final pass
Check every starting slot, kickoff time, and injury concern on the platform where your league is hosted. Save changes there. Frumpy Duck reads league information and does not submit a lineup on your behalf.
